{"id":201,"date":"2024-01-01T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-01T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/babe80e34512396407.temporary.link\/?p=201"},"modified":"2024-02-14T13:29:25","modified_gmt":"2024-02-14T13:29:25","slug":"hybrid-battery-bank-introduction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/1961.org.uk\/testit\/?p=201","title":{"rendered":"Hybrid Battery Bank &#8211; Introduction"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Part 0 (Intro) &#8211; What is a Hybrid Battery Bank?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Generally, people install Lead Acid Batteries in their Recreational Vehicles and Boats to run the everyday Habitation\/House services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is increased interest in Lithium Batteries (and particularly the LiFePO4 style of Lithium) as they offer various benefits and advantages over Lead \u2013 however up-front cost is definitely not one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what about the idea of using both at the same time, maybe taking advantage of both Lead and Lithium at the same time?&nbsp; Wouldn\u2019t that be cool if it were possible?&nbsp;&nbsp; Well, maybe it is \u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a discussion about the concept of having a Hybrid Bank comprised of both Lithium and Lead Acid batteries, broken down into a number of hopefully logical sections in different posts to make it more manageable to read. As the battery gets used, the voltage drops in a very linear fashion.&nbsp;<br>A Lithium Battery has a very different voltage\/Amp-hour pattern. Charging Considerations<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Lead Acid Battery and a Lithium Battery have different charging characteristics and requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One requires a certain voltage and tends to charge quite slowly.&nbsp;<br>The other typically wants a lower voltage and charges much faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So how can you manage both when they are physically connected together?&nbsp;&nbsp;
